Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) Examination – 2025

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission invites online applications for the Assistant Prosecution Officer Examination-2025 under the U.P. Prosecuting Officers Service Rules, 1991 (as amended) for recruitment to the post of Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO), Group-‘B’, Gazetted.

This notification is issued in continuation of the advertisement uploaded on the Commission’s official website. All candidates are advised to read the notification carefully before submitting the application.

1. Important Dates

Commencement of Online Application: 16.09.2025

Last Date for Fee Payment (Bank): 16.10.2025

Last Date for Submitting Online Application: 16.10.2025

Last Date for Correction/Modification: 24.10.2025

Note: No applications will be accepted after the final date under any circumstances.

3. Pay Scale

₹47,600 – ₹1,51,100 (Level-8), Grade Pay ₹4800.

4. Essential Educational Qualification

Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University on or before the last date of application.

5. Age Limit (as on 01 July 2025)

Minimum: 21 years

Maximum: 40 years (born between 02.07.1985 and 01.07.2004)

Age Relaxations (as per rules):

• SC/ST/OBC/Skilled Players/Government Employees of UP: +5 years

• Persons with Disabilities: +15 years (Max age 55 years)

• Ex-Army/EC/SSC Officers: +3 years + service years

6. Reservation Details

• Reservation applicable only for domiciles of Uttar Pradesh.

• OBC/SC/ST/EWS/DFF/PH/Ex-Servicemen certificates must be issued in prescribed formats as mentioned in the advertisement (Appendix-1 to Appendix-4).

• Women candidates must use father-side caste certificate only.

8. Selection Procedure

Selection will be made through:

1. Preliminary Examination

2. Main (Written) Examination

3. Interview (Personality Test – 50 Marks)

Final merit = Marks of Main Examination + Interview.

10. Important Instructions

• OTR (One-Time Registration) is mandatory for all applicants.

• All details filled in OTR will automatically reflect in the application.

• Candidates must preserve all stages of application-related proofs (fee receipt, final printout, etc.).

• Hard copies of application forms shall not be sent at the preliminary stage.

• All original certificates will be verified at the time of interview.

• Any suppression of facts, forged documents, or misrepresentation will lead to cancellation of candidature and debarment for up to 5 years, and action under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.5

11. Centres of Examination

The preliminary exam will be conducted in various districts of Uttar Pradesh. Exact date and centre details will be mentioned on the e-Admit Card.

12. Minimum Qualifying Marks

• SC/ST: 35%

• Others: 40% Candidates scoring below the minimum efficiency standard will be disqualified.
