Notification – Combined Recruitment Test for Legal Posts
To shortlist applicants for a variety of legal positions across several ministries and departments, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will administer a Combined Recruitment Test (CRT). The examination is intended to fill positions in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) under the Department of Personnel & Training, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the Enforcement Directorate, and the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO).

Date and Mode of Examination
The Combined Recruitment Test will be held on Sunday, 11th January 2026, timings for the test will be 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon in the forenoon session. The test will be offline (pen-and-paper based).
Candidates who qualify the in the written test will be selected for the interview stage after completing all the eligibility conditions
Exam Pattern (Scheme of Test)
• Duration: 2 hours
• Type of Paper: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)
• Maximum Marks: 300
• Medium: English only
• Negative Marking: One-third mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. No penalty for unattempted questions.
• Weightage: Recruitment Test (75%) and Interview (25%)

Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Port Blair, Ranchi, and Visakhapatnam.
Note: Requests for change of examination centre will not be entertained.

• Admit Cards: The e-Admit Cards will be available for download on the UPSC website approximately one week before the examination date.
• Venue Details: The exact venue of the test will be mentioned in the admit card. •
• Eligibility: Appearance in the test does not automatically confer eligibility for appointment. Verification will be carried out at later stages.
