SEBI – Advance Intimation for Recruitment of Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager), 2025
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the statutory body responsible for regulating the securities market and safeguarding investor interests, is preparing to launch its recruitment process for Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) positions for the year 2025.
This is the advance intimation given by authority. The detailed advertisement and the online application link will be released on October 30, 2025 on SEBI’s official website. It is advised to the candidates keep checking for updates on website, as SEBI may revise these dates if necessary. Applications will be accepted only through the online portal.
Posts and Streams
SEBI will invite applications for the following streams:
• General Stream – 56 posts
• Legal Stream – 20 posts
• Information Technology – 22 posts
• Research – 4 posts
• Official Language – 3 posts
• Engineering (Electrical) – 2 posts
• Engineering (Civil) – 3 posts
It is the right of the SEBI to reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or keep the positions unfilled.
Educational Qualifications
General Stream:
Master’s degree/PG Diploma (2-year), OR Bachelor’s degree in Law/Engineering, OR CA/CFA/CS/CMA.
Legal Stream:
Bachelor’s degree in Law.
Desirable: At least two years of experience as an advocate or in a law firm.
Information Technology:
Engineering degree in any discipline OR any graduate degree with a 2-year PG qualification in CS/IT/Computer Applications.
Research Stream:
Master’s/PG Diploma in disciplines such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Econometrics, Data Science, AI/ML, or related areas.
Official Language:
Master’s in Hindi/Hindi Translation with English at graduation level, OR Master’s in related disciplines with Hindi at graduation, OR Master’s in both Hindi and English.
Engineering (Electrical/Civil):
Bachelor’s degree in respective engineering branch.
Experience in project management, construction work, security/electrical systems etc., will be considered desirable.
Who Can Apply?
Candidates who have appeared or will appear for their final examinations before the last date of application may apply. Their appointment will be subject to submitting proof of completing the required qualification.
Reservations for OBC (NCL), EWS, SC, ST, and PwBD categories will be provided as per government rules.
Age Limit
Applicants must not be older than 30 years as on September 30, 2025
(i.e., born on or after October 1, 1995).
Relaxations will apply as per regulations.
Selection Procedure
The recruitment process will consist of three phases:
1. Phase I: Online exam with two papers
2. Phase II: Online exam with two papers
3. Interview: For candidates shortlisted after Phase II
SEBI may modify the selection process if required.
Pay Scale & Benefits
Grade A officers are placed in the pay scale:
₹62,500 – 3,600 (4 increments) – 76,900 – 4,050 (7 increments) – 1,05,250 – EB – 4,050 (4 increments) – 1,21,450 – 4,650 (1 increment) – 1,26,100
At the beginning of this scale, the approximate monthly gross salary at Mumbai is:
• ₹1,84,000/month (without accommodation)
• ₹1,43,000/month (with accommodation)
Other benefits include NPS contribution, allowances (grade, special, learning, family, local), medical reimbursement, LFC, subsidised lunch, education allowance, computer purchase scheme, conveyance expenses, and more.
Probation period: 2 years.
Officers may be posted to any department or office of SEBI across India.
Application Fee
• UR/OBC/EWS: ₹1000 + 18% GST
• SC/ST/PwBD: ₹100 + 18% GST
Pre-Examination Training
Online pre-exam training will be arranged free of cost for eligible SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD candidates. Candidates must opt for this while filling the application form—no later requests will be entertained.
