AI-Powered App Launched for India Mobile Congress 2025

• Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia unveiled an AI-driven mobile app for India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 on 1st September.

• The app is designed as a platform for connections, collaborations, and outcomes, enhancing the event experience.

• The 9th India Mobile Congress is scheduled to be held from October 8 to 11 at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka, New Delhi.

• With the theme “Innovate to Transform,” the event will focus on next-gen tech and digital transformation.

• The app includes features like real-time live streaming, AI-based session recommendations, and networking tools for startups and attendees.

• Interactive tools such as chatbots, live polls, video highlights, photo booths, and contests are integrated for user engagement.

• IMC 2025 will showcase 1,000+ tech use cases across areas like 5G/6G, AI, IoT, clean tech, quantum computing, and smart mobility.

• The event is jointly hosted by DoT and COAI, with registrations open for startups, delegates, academia, students, and media via the official IMC website.

India to Host 2026 Badminton World Championships

• New Delhi will host the 2026 Badminton World Championships in August 2026, as announced by the BWF on 1st September during the 2025 closing ceremony in Paris.

• The tournament returns to India after 17 years, with the previous edition held in Hyderabad in 2009.

• This marks the championship's comeback to Asia after a gap of four years, last hosted in Nanjing, China (2018).

• India has grown into a strong badminton nation, consistently earning podium finishes in recent championships.

• PV Sindhu tops India’s World Championships medal count with a total of five medals, including one gold, two silver, and two bronze.

• Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have recently achieved historic success for India by winning medals in men’s doubles events.

• H.S. Prannoy has also contributed to India’s medal count in the latest editions of the tournament.

India Post Payments Bank Celebrates 8th Foundation Day

• India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) celebrated its 8th Foundation Day on September 1, 2025, in New Delhi.

• Established in 2018, IPPB is fully owned by the Government of India and functions under the Department of Posts.

• It has become a global example of financial inclusion, using a network of 1.64 lakh post offices and 1.90 lakh postmen and GDS.

• Over 12 crore customers have been enrolled, with doorstep banking available in rural, semi-urban, and remote regions.

• New offerings include DigiSmart, Premium Aarogya Savings Account, and Aadhaar-based Face Authentication.

• Existing services feature RuPay Virtual Debit Cards, AePS, cross-border remittances, and Bharat BillPay.

• The bank operates in 13 Indian languages, serving 5.57 lakh villages and towns.

• IPPB continues to expand affordable, tech-driven banking to increase digital finance access nationwide.

Bihar Launches 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana' to Boost Women’s Employment

• The Bihar Cabinet has approved the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, aiming to empower one woman from every family with financial support for self-employment.

• Each selected woman will receive an initial ₹10,000 to start an occupation of her choice.

• The Rural Development Department will be the nodal agency, with support from the Urban Development and Housing Department as needed.

• Applications from interested women will be invited soon, and direct bank transfers to beneficiaries will begin next month.

• After six months, the government will assess the business progress and may offer additional support of up to ₹2 lakh.

• The scheme focuses on creating employment opportunities for women across both rural and urban areas.

• Local markets and haat bazaars will be developed in villages and towns to help women sell their products.

• The initiative promotes economic independence for women and encourages grassroots entrepreneurship across Bihar.

PM Modi at SCO Summit 2025

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 25th SCO Heads of State Summit in Tianjin, China, held from August 31 to September 1, 2025.

• He strongly opposed double standards on terrorism, calling it a major global threat and urging unified global action.

• Modi highlighted India’s four-decade struggle against terrorism and thanked nations supporting India after the Pahalgam attack.

• Highlighting India’s participation in the SCO, he presented the nation’s strategy centered around three key pillars: Security, Connectivity, and Opportunity.

• On the sidelines, Modi held bilateral talks with President Putin and had wide-ranging discussions with President Xi Jinping.

• With Xi, PM Modi stressed that peace along the border is like an insurance policy for stable India-China ties.

• Both leaders agreed to use existing mechanisms to maintain peace and avoid actions that could disrupt bilateral relations.

• The summit marked China’s fifth time hosting the SCO, with a focus on regional cooperation, security, and diplomatic dialogue.
