• In 2025, the 648th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas falls on 12th February.
• Guru Ravidas is renowned for his fight against the caste system.
• A revered Sufi saint, he is also known as Raidas, Rohidas, and Ruhidas.
• Born in 1377 CE in Seer Goverdhanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
• His 40 devotional hymns are part of the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism.
• A social reformer and spiritual leader, Guru Ravidas was a contemporary of Kabir and Mirabai.
• He established the Ravidassia faith in the 14th century.
RANKING AND INDEX
Corruption Perceptions Index 2024.
• India ranked 96th out of 180 countries in the 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI).
• The CPI report, released by Transparency International on February 11, 2024, shows India’s score dropped by one point to 38.
• The index ranks countries based on perceived public sector corruption, using assessments from experts and business professionals.
• The CPI scale ranges from 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean).
• Over two-thirds of the nations assessed scored below 50, with the global average remaining at 43.
• India’s CPI score was 38 in 2024, down from 39 in 2023 and 40 in 2022. Its rank in 2023 was 93.
• Among India’s neighbour’s, Pakistan ranked 135th, Sri Lanka 121st, and Bangladesh was ranked lower at 149th. China ranked 76th.
• Denmark topped the list as the least corrupt country, followed by Finland, Singapore, New Zealand, and Luxembourg.

World Government Summit 2025 Begins in Dubai on February 11.
• The World Government Summit (WGS) 2025 kicked off on February 11 in Dubai, UAE, and will run until February 14.
• The theme for the 12th edition is "Shaping Future Governments."
• Heads of state, government officials, global institutions, and experts are attending to discuss governance and key sectors.
• Union Minister Bhupender Yadav participated in the High-Level Roundtable on the Future of Mobility and the XDGs 2045 Ministerial Roundtable.
• During the summit, Yadav highlighted India’s Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), launched by PM Modi on October 20, 2022, in Gujarat.
• Mission LiFE focuses on encouraging individuals to adopt sustainable lifestyles to address climate change.
• The Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change leads the national coordination and implementation of Mission LiFE.
• WGS 2025 serves as a global platform for discussing governance, innovation, and sustainable development.
14th Asian Fisheries Forum begins in New Delhi
• The 14th Asian Fisheries and Aquaculture Forum (14 AFAF) began in New Delhi on February 12 and will run until February 14.
• A triennial event organized by the Asian Fisheries Society (AFS) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
• This marks India’s second time hosting the forum, with the 8th edition held in Kochi in 2007.
• The theme for 2025 is "Greening the Blue Growth in Asia-Pacific."
• The event was inaugurated by Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying.
• India is recognized as a significant player in sustainable fisheries and aquaculture.

NSG Officer Deepak Kumar Kedia Honored with 'CA in Public Service' Award
• Deepak Kumar Kedia, Inspector General (IG) of the National Security Guard (NSG), received the 'CA in Public Service' award from ICAI.
• The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to public service, particularly in law enforcement and national security.
• Kedia was honored at the World Forum of Accountants Meet in New Delhi.
• He also received the 'President Medal for Distinguished Service' on Republic Day.
• Known as the 'CA in Uniform,' Kedia previously worked at the Steel Authority of India (SAIL).
