• Azad served as Education Minister from August 15, 1947, to February 2, 1958, shaping India's education system.

• He played a key role in establishing IIT Kharagpur, the first Indian Institute of Technology.

• In 1992, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna for his contributions to education.

• The 86th Amendment of the Indian Constitution (2002) introduced free elementary education under Article 21-A.

• Article 21-A guarantees free and compulsory education for children between the ages of six and fourteen.

• The Right to Education (RTE) Act, which came into force in 2010, ensures quality education for every child.

• For FY 2024-25, a record Rs 73,498 crore was allocated to improve the education system and enhance learning opportunities.

• Justice Khanna's term as CJI will be for six months.

• He began his legal career in 1983 as an advocate with the Delhi Bar Council.

• In 2005, Justice Khanna was appointed as an additional judge of the Delhi High Court and became a permanent judge in 2006.

• He was elevated to the Supreme Court in January 2019.

• Justice Khanna's appointment marks a significant milestone in his distinguished judicial career.

World's highest enduro mountain biking race "Monduro 4.0" started in Tawang.

• The world’s highest enduro mountain biking event, Monduro 4.0, has kicked off in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.

• The race was flagged off on 9th November by Tawang MLA Namgay Tsering and Brigade Commander Brigadier VS Rajput.

• The Tawang Cycling Association, in partnership with the Arunachal Pradesh Department of Tourism, is organizing the event.

• Starting at 14,400 feet, the race descends to 8,000 feet, making it one of the most challenging in the world.

• Riders from across India and eight foreign countries are competing in the 2024 edition.

• To help participants adjust to the high altitude, practice races were held on 10th and 11th November.

• The final races are scheduled for 13th and 14th November.

• Monduro 4.0 is part of the prestigious Asia Enduro Series (AES).
