BANKING, ECONOMY AND FINANCE
RBI has decided to keep policy repo rate unchanged at 6.50% for 11th time.
• RBI has kept the policy repo rate unchanged at 6.50%, marking the 11th consecutive time.
• The decision to maintain the repo rate was made by a majority vote of 4:2.
• Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) rate is set at 6.25%, and the Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) rate remains at 6.75%.
• Since February 2023, the RBI has maintained stable benchmark interest rates.
• The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has unanimously decided to continue with a 'neutral' policy outlook.
• Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) has been reduced by 50 basis points to 4%.
• The GDP growth projection for FY25 has been lowered to 6.6%, down from the earlier estimate of 7.2%.
• The inflation projection for FY25 remains at 4.8%, and small finance banks are now allowed to approve UPI credit lines.
