• The temple management committee applied for the licence under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010.
• The approval follows amendments made to FCRA regulations in 2022.
• One key change lowered the administrative expense limit for foreign funds from 50% to 20%.
• Under the law, organisations must register under FCRA to legally receive foreign contributions.
• The registration is valid for five years and must be renewed periodically.
• All foreign funds must be routed through a designated SBI branch in New Delhi.
• The new licence will help the temple access global financial support for its activities.
