Indore created a world record by planting 11 lakh saplings in a day.

• Indore set a new Guinness World Record by planting over 1.1 million saplings in 24 hours on July 14.

• The tree plantation program was organized by the state government.

• Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign and planted a sapling earlier in the day.

• Campaign Launch: The "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on World Environment Day, June 5.

• The campaign aims to plant 51 lakh saplings in Indore.

• Plantation Drive Location: The drive took place in the Revati range of the BSF Academy, divided into nine zones and 100 sub-zones.

• The drive involved 2000 BSF jawans, more than 100 NRIs, NCC cadets from 50 schools, citizens, and various social organizations.

• The previous record of 9,21,730 saplings was set by the Forest Department of Assam at Udalguri on September 13 and 14, 2023.

Kerala becomes first state to record biodiversity with the help of local communities
